In recent years, tapping the sea for potable water has gained prominence as a potential source of water. Since seawater intake systems are often used in infrastructure industry, ensuring proper efficiency different operating conditions is very important. this paper, CFD modeling to show general hydraulic design (flow patterns, stream flow, vortex severities, and pre-swirl) principles performance acceptability criteria pump intakes conditions. The authors explore scenarios avoiding or resolving problems that have arisen result model studies. results designer should make every effort avoid small entrance filtration areas from basin forebay bottom, which could jet outlet and/or supercritical flow; too logs at outflow, high velocity flow jets; sudden area contractions bay junction. There be enough submergence pumps reduce harmful severities pre-swirl. Curtain walls, baffles, fillets, splitters, well redistributors, can all aid improving approach patterns. Reduced separations eddies will greatly assisted by rounding corners providing guide walls. Using numerical figure out what wrong how fix it help facility’s costs maintenance decrease long run.
